OM5 LC-LC Fiber Optic Patch Cable Multimode 40/100Gb is designed for the future 200/400 Gigabit networks with a full backwards compatibility with the existing 10/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet networks. OM5 fiber patch cables extend the maximum transmission distance, and with the new SWDM, OM5 WBMMF can operate between 850 and 953nm wavelength to support multiple wavelengths over a single fiber channel, achieving increased bandwidth through reduced fiber counts.
ADVANTAGES
Strong scalability: OM5 fiber patch cords can combine shortwave wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) and parallel transmission technology in the future, and only need 8-core wideband multimode fiber (WBMMF) to support 200/400G Ethernet application;
Reduce cost: OM5 fiber jumper draws on the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology of single-mode fiber, extends the usable wavelength range during network transmission, and can support 4 wavelengths on 1-core multi-mode fiber. The number is reduced to 1/4 of the previous one, which greatly reduces the cost of network wiring;
